​Eat Shop Play Mersea started as a simple idea — to make it easier for people to find everything the island has to offer in one place. It has grown steadily over the years into a widely used local guide for both residents and visitors.

While still an independent project, there are now real ongoing costs involved in keeping the site running, updated, and improving year on year. These supporter options are not traditional advertising packages — they are a simple way for local businesses to help support a guide that continues to promote the island and the businesses within it.

Most businesses choose to take part because it feels like a fair exchange: supporting something that actively supports them.
