Water adventures based on pure family fun & action

The team at Mersea Water Park are fully trained activity professionals and operate in a completely safe, enclosed lakeside environment. The centre is qualified to cater for all abilities of water lovers including complete novices, kids, families, and experienced paddleboarders.
 

Group bookings, family slots, and individual activity sessions are available to book.

What can you expect from a session?

Absolute Floating Chaos

A massive floating inflatable aqua park obstacle course out on the lake. Expect to stack it a billion times, completely wipe out, and laugh your head off with your family.
Paddleboards & Kayaks - Swimming & Crabbing
If you want something calmer, grab a board or paddle. Perfect for paddling in circles, getting splashed, and making proper summer memories right on your doorstep. You can simply swim in the safe designated areas and if you bring a bucket and line, there is crabbing on the pontoon. 
Excellent Lakeside Setup
Great changing facilities on site, plenty of parking space right by the entrance, and a lovely little café spot to grab a proper hot coffee, cold drinks, and snacks, plus a mini fast food kiosk serving fries and burgers.If you forget something, there is an on-site shop with watershoes, wetsuits and beach equipment.
Safe & Fantastic Environment
All sessions are delivered by a brilliant team of lifeguards who talk you through everything before you touch the water, keeping you 100% safe the whole time.

You can bring your own equipment if you have it, but they also provide everything you will need.

The perfect day out

The park has completely sorted the perfect lakeside escape, combining big inflatable wipeouts with peaceful paddling, covering the critical ingredients for a proper island day out.

Keeping Children and Families Safe

Every single year during the school holidays, Vicky runs her incredible Children’s Sea Safety Sessions right here on the Mersea shore. These aren't boring classroom talks—they are live, hands-on, high-density survival classes designed to give your kids total confidence in the sea. 

Vicky has completely sorted a 90-minute masterclass (60 minutes on the beach, 30 minutes practising live in the waves) covering the critical facts every island kid needs to know.

Vicky also walks families directly through the STA Water Safety Code, teaching kids to spot hidden dangers, read beach flags, always swim with an adult, and learn how to help others without putting themselves at risk.

Vicky is an STA Level 2 Open Water Swim Coach and received her training from Double Open Water World Champion and Olympic Medallist Kerri-Anne Payne.

Vicky is qualified to coach all abilities of open water swimmers including novice, intermediate and experienced.

1:1 Sessions and Group Sessions are available to book.

Technique Sessions
Technique sessions include sighting, drafting, bouy turns, stroke analysis, breathing and body positioning, mass starts, deep waterside entry, treading water, pack swimming, feeding, run outs, dive starts and cold water swimming acclimatisation.
